Outreach Support Worker
Are you passionate about helping autistic adults and those with learning disabilities achieve their desired performance? Autism Anglia, a well-established independent charity, is looking for Outreach Support Workers to join our dedicated outreach team in Colchester, Essex.
This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who enjoys working closely with individuals to help them develop life skills, achieve personal goals, and thrive in a safe and supportive environment.
You must have a full UK Driving Licence and access to your own car for business purposes, as this role will involve accompanying the people we support on day trips, to appointments, shopping and various other activities.

About the role
As a Support Worker, you will:
- Work in partnership with the team to provide person-centred, outcome-focused support.
- Maintain the dignity, privacy, and wellbeing of each individual, assisting with personal care, health, and hygiene.
- Support individuals in a variety of activities, including sport, leisure, cultural and recreational events, day trips.
- Assist with communication, sensory support, or psychological monitoring and interventions.
- Ensure all support plans, risk assessments, and documentation are accurate, up-to-date, and reflective of individual needs.
- Follow Safeguarding procedures and act promptly on any concerns.
What we’re looking for
We welcome applications from individuals who:
- Have experience as a Support Worker, Healthcare Assistant (HCA), Carer, Senior Support Worker, or Team Leader, preferably with autism or learning disabilities.
- Hold a full UK driving licence.
- Can identify and support the needs, wishes, and aspirations of individuals with communication needs.
- Are experienced in providing intensive behavioural support.
- Have strong communication skills and experience coordinating activities in the local area.
